Groundwater and Surface Water Interaction

E-PUR’s expertise in hydrogeology, hydrology, and engineering assists our clients in evaluating the interactions between groundwater and surface water. This extends to evaluating how changes to groundwater withdrawal points and quantities, and the use of underlying aquifers can impact wetlands, streams, rivers, nearby water supply wells, existing drainage controls, and slope stability.

E-PUR offers complementary services across the range of water quantity and quality concerns associated with developing water supplies that combine surface water and groundwater sources in conjunctive use.

Our project experience has taught us how to clearly communicate potential hydrological impacts during the early stages of site and project planning. We provide solutions for maintaining or increasing water withdrawals while mitigating potential impacts to existing water users, water quality, and aquatic habitat.
